CEBU CITY- Archbishop Jose Palma visited on Thursday the spot in his residence where an armed man looking for him was shot dead.
The Church leader also offered a short prayer for the man, identified as Jeffrey Cañedo.
Palma earlier said he would have wanted to speak with Cañedo if he was given the opportunity.
Cañedo went to the Archbishop's Palace Tuesday morning but was told by staff of the archdiocese that the archbishop was not around.
The staff offered that Cañedo speak to other priests instead but the man insisted for the prelate.
This prompted the staff to alert the police as a gun was also seen tucked in Cañedo's waistband.
Police urged Cañedo to surrender, but the latter refused, leading to a shootout.
