CAGAYAN DE ORO - The Martial Law Special Action Group has released one of 3 suspected Maute group members arrested in this city last week.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), authorities failed to establish connection between Gazim Mantawasi Abdullah and the terrorist group.

"Bale inano siya, ininterview, in-interrogate ng intelligence community. Walang nakuhang matibay na dahilan para file-an natin ng kaso,"said Supt. Melgar Devaras of the CIDG.

Abdullah, along with his wife Monalisa "Monai" Romato and daughter Tahera "Kulingling" Romato, were arrested in a raid last week that targeted Irene Idris, a cousin of the Maute brothers.

The raid in Idris' house led to the recovery of an M203 grenade, a blasting cap, a battery, a C4 explosive, a detonating cord and ammonium nitrate but the target was nowhere to be found.

Idris was renting an apartment of Abdullah before she fled. Both Monai and Kulingling have been charged with illegal possession of explosives.

Abdullah's wife, another cousin of the Maute brothers, has been in charge of financing terrorists after Maute matriarch Farhana was arrested last month, a military official alleges.

Devaras said they are still waiting for the result of the investigation on Monai and Kulingling. He said they need sufficient basis for the possible filing of a rebellion case against them.

"Dapat may nag e-execute ng affidavit to justify na cited sila for rebellion may public uprising, taking of arms against government," he explained.
