Earlier, his spokesperson Ernesto Abella said Duterte finds Bahay Pangarap "too big" and finds it sad living all by his lonesome.

Bahay Pangarap, which is in Malacanang Park across the Palace, was restored by Architect Francisco Mañosa during the Ramos administration. It was demolished and rebuilt in 2008 by architect Conrad Onglao, the former partner of singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla.

Bahay Pangarap now has a "contemporary style (retaining the basic shape of the roof as a nod to the previous historic structure), replacing, as well, the Commonwealth-era swimming pool and pergolas with a modern swimming pool," the Palace website said.
