CEBU CITY – Five students of the Pardo National High School hyperventilated and passed out during their quarterly earthquake drill held Thursday.
The five were Grade 7 and Grade 8 students.
A classmate of one of those who passed out said she noticed the girl having difficulty breathing while on their way out of their classroom and walking towards the quadrangle.
Principal Normando Panilag said the students were not able to take their breakfast before the drill and fell ill during the activity.
They were advised to rest and were sent home.
Panilag said the school management was urging their students to eat breakfast and would not include all students in the next quarterly drill, especially those with health conditions.
