MANILA- Vice President Leni Robredo urged the Supreme Court sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) on Wednesday to release a CCTV footage that can allegedly disprove former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ claim that he was surprised to learn of an outing attended by PET head revisors.
Marcos on Monday asked the PET to investigate a “swimming party” in Calamba, Laguna that was allegedly attended by Robredo revisor Osmundo “Ritchie” Abuyuan and official PET head revisors.
Ballot box custodians and handlers, and other personnel of the tribunal involved in the ongoing manual recount of votes in his poll protest against the vice president were reportedly present in the party as well.
The recount covers Marcos’ pilot provinces namely, Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental.
The “outing” was discovered due to at least seven photos posted on Facebook on June 24, but later deleted.
Marcos submitted screenshots of the alleged photos to the PET.
In her counter-manifestation, Robredo claimed Marcos’ camp knew of the said outing and was “feigning ignorance.”
“[P]rotestant Marcos conveniently omitted that days prior thereto, the revisors of protestant Marcos were well aware of the proposed outing," Robredo said in her pleading.
She added that one of Marcos’ “supervisors” named Roderick Miranda even sent some snacks for the outing days before. Robredo did not specify the date, however.
“A [CCTV] footage will confirm Mr. Miranda leaving the bag of snacks in the fourth floor of the building,” she said, but did not specify which building.
"The revisors of protestant Marcos were also invited to the said outing. In fact, prior thereto, no less than one of the supervisors of protestant Marcos, Mr. Roderick Miranda, sent some snacks for the propose outing,” she added.
Robredo slammed Marcos for urging the PET to investigate the outing, as she stressed that a probe has already been conducted where "some of the personalities involved were already meted with penalties."
The following are the PET personnel whom Marcos’ named in his pleading as those who reportedly attended the outing:
Reycard Castro - PET chief tabulator
Hazel Magsipoc - PET head revisor
Mohammad Disomangcop - PET head revisor
Jennifer Pablo - PET head revisor
Michaer Rebosura - PET head revisor
Christine Enriquez - PET head revisor
Noriesel Lalamunan - PET head revisor
Irene Canada - PET head revisor
Princess Bonetivo - PET head revisor
Maria Katrin “Cheche” Rosales - PET head revisor
Hannah Pauline Medrano - PET head revisor
Julius Tumalad - PET alternate head revisor
Ellaine Francisco - PET appraiser
Keno Moraleda - PET head ballot box custodian
Martin Santos - PET ballot box custodian
Edward Roque - PET ballot box custodian
Bryan Puntero - PET ballot box custodian
Elijah Mikaelson - PET ballot box custodian
Mel Darien Buensalido - PET ballot box custodian
Rogen Agudelo - PET ballot box custodian
Robredo said Marcos should be “more candid” to the tribunal.
"The honorable tribunal deserves no less than the truth from protestant Marcos,” she said.
Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, a spokesperson of Marcos, meanwhile challenged Robredo's camp to produce an "authentic" CCTV footage.
“We challenge Mrs. Leni Robredo to go ahead and produce such footage provided it is authentic and not another product of her many lies," he said in a statement Wednesday.
"We have shown pictures of how she has corrupted PET head revisors and pictures don’t lie. To date, all she has are alibis and more lies. Huling huli na nagpapalusot pa (She's already caught and yet she is still making excuses)," he added.
Robredo, who also filed a counter-protest with the PET, won against Marcos in the 2016 elections by a slim margin of 263,473 votes.
