Korean man nabbed in Clark for concealing gun, bullets, drugs in toiletries

MANILA - A Korean national was arrested at the Clark International Airport Tuesday for allegedly concealing a gun and illegal drugs in his luggage, airport officials said.

The suspect was identified as 61-year old Yoon Hoseop who was departing for Seoul, South Korea, Undersecretary Art Evangelista of the Office for Transportation Security said in a statement.

Yoon allegedly concealed a caliber .22 revolver in his luggage and placed its bullets inside a lotion bottle while 2 sachets of shabu were found inside a soap box, Evangelista said.

Yoon denied that he owned the contraband found in his luggage.

The Korean national was charged for illegal possession of firearms and possession of illegal drugs.

Authorities have yet to establish Yoon's motive for trying to bring the prohibited items on his flight out of the country.
