MANILA—A magnitude 4.9 earthquake rocked North Cotabato on Wednesday morning, Phivolcs said.
The tremor, an aftershock of the magnitude 5.6 quake on Tuesday evening, happened at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday, 11 kilometers northeast of Makilala town.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 21 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.
Intensity V was felt in Kidapawan City.
Meanwhile, the following instrumental intensities were reported:
- Intensity V - Kidapawan City
- Intensity II - Tupi, South Cotabato
- Intensity I - Alabel, Sarangani; Cagayan de Oro City
The tremor was not expected to cause any damage and aftershock.
Classes in all levels in Makilala town and Kidapawan City were suspended Wednesday due to the earthquake.
