LAOAG CITY- Police on Friday arrested a father and son tandem for the alleged possession of improvised dynamites for illegal fishing locally known as "bongbong."

Police searched the houses of Domingo Clemente, 72, and his son Arnel, 48, and found empty liquor bottles turned into improvised explosive devices.

Also recovered were a box of blasting caps, wires, and plastic bags containing ammonium nitrate and kerosene.

The two suspects defended themselves and said the recovered items were stocks from long ago and not used for any illegal activity.

Police conducted the search after receiving information that the father and son duo were making improvised dynamites for illegal fishing.
