MANILA - The Supreme Court (SC) suspended work in all courts in the National Capital Region (NCR) effective 1 p.m. Friday due to typhoon "Butchoy" and the induced monsoon rains.
Senior Associate Justice and acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio issued the order. Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is on leave.
A skeletal force must be maintained, the order states, to receive urgent filings.
Executive courts in other areas affected by the rains may exercise discretion in suspending work in their respective courts.
