ILIGAN - Soldiers found parts of a pipe bomb at the boundary of Barangay Abuno in Iligan and Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte Thursday evening.
Colonel Alex Aduca, commander of the 52nd Mechanized Battalion, said they found the bag containing the pipe bomb parts after seeing a suspicion person fleeing the scene on board a motorcycle.
Soldiers immediately called for the Explosive Ordnance Division to dismantle the improvised explosive.
Senior Superintendent Leony Roy Ga, Iligan City Police Office director, said the bomb courier was heading to Iligan. It is possible that he was testing if he could pass through checkpoints.
