MANILA - The island paradise of Boracay has been consistently drawing tourists to its white sand and clear blue waters.

But some areas in the inner part of the island are now being affected by floods.

Last Saturday, a flood affected Pinaungon, Barangay Balabag after rain fell at around 6PM.

In a video shared to Bayan Mo, I-Patrol Mo, the flood is seen causing heavy traffic as light vehicles could not pass through the water.

According to the sender of the video, there has been flooding in the area before.

Last Saturday's flood, he claims, was the worst given that the rain was not even heavy that night.

He added that nothing has improved since he started working there three years ago.

The mayor's office said they are already aware of unfinished drainage projects causing flooding in parts of Boracay.

Rowen Aguirre, executive assistant to the mayor, told news.abs-cbn.com that flooding is one of the priorities of newly installed Mayor Dodong Cawiling.
