MANILA - Seven more Filipinos abroad have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising the total of infections among overseas Philippine nationals to 8,474, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday.
Of the total cases, 2,824 are active while majority, 5,101, have recovered, and 549 others succumbed to the disease.
These cases are from 59 countries and regions.
The breakdown by region of those undergoing treatment is as follows: 81 in the Asia Pacific; 474 in Europe; 2,120 in the Middle East and Africa; and 149 in the Americas.
In the Philippines, 37,514 people have been infected, of whom 1,266 died and 10,233 have recovered.
