MANILA - A court hearing drug charges against Sen. Leila de Lima on Friday granted her request to defer her arraignment after she questioned a warrant for her arrest as "extremely weak."

Judge Amelia Fabros-Corpuz of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 205 moved the arraignment to August 18 and asked prosecutors to comment within 10 days on De Lima's protest against the arrest warrant.

De Lima, who is detained at police general headquarters, was present during Friday's hearing.
