A South Korean national wanted in South Korea for allegedly swindling over 200 million won, or P9M, was arrested by Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents in Angeles City, Pampanga on Thursday.

Kim Woo, 38-years old, was wanted for allegedly swindling another South Korean of nearly 129 million won, or P5.7M, which he acquired by claiming he needed it to finish a film he was directing, according to a press statement released by the BI.

Kim allegedly defrauded the said victim of more than 107 million won, or P4.7M, by offering the latter to invest in a corporate business.

A South Korean court issued an arrest warrant against the suspect, which the South Korean embassy in Manila requested to execute at Kim's house in Barangay Balibago.

Kim was also the subject of a "red notice" from Interpol, according to authorities.

Investigation revealed the suspect fled to the Philippines on Aug. 5 last year.

According to the BI, Kim is also an undocumented foreigner living in the country due to the cancellation of his passport by the Korean government.
