MANILA - Metro Manila police on Friday night were raised on full alert after twin explosions in Indanan town, Sulu left at least 8 dead and 12 others wounded.
In a statement, National Capital Region police chief Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the alert was raised as a "proactive means" in response to the Sulu blasts.
"Although there are no threats detected within the National Capital Region but as a proactive means in response to this terror attack, the entire region is now placed under full alert status effective 6PM today," he said.
"Having this measure would be of great help in deterring unscrupulous individuals in carrying out their illegal or terroristic acts."
Eleazar urged the public to remain alert and vigilant, and to report incidents or suspicious persons through NCRPO hotlines 0915-888-8181, 0999-901-8181.
