MANILA—Among the highlights of graduation season at University of the Philippines in Diliman is the lineup of speakers during college recognition rites.
This year, Vice President Leni Robredo, Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales will be guest speakers.
Robredo is expected to address graduates of the School of Statistics on Thursday, June 27, with the theme "Defying Limits, Modeling the Future."
Carpio-Morales will speak at the recognition rites of the School of Economics on Friday, June 28, while Carpio will be at the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy recognition rites on Saturday, June 29.
In addition, former Otso Diretso senatorial bets Chel Diokno and Samira Gutoc will also be speaking respectively at the recognition ceremonies of the School of Library and Information Studies on Friday and College of Social Work and Community Development on Sunday.
Broadcast journalist Karen Davila will be returning to her alma mater, College of Mass Communication, to address graduates on Sunday afternoon.
The commencement speaker in the university graduation on Sunday, themed "Tahanan," will be National Artist for Theater Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio. — Report from Jervis Manahan, ABS-CBN News
