PAGASA: Dodong exits Philippine area of responsibility

Tropical Depression Dodong exited the Philippine area of responsibility at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to PAGASA.

(Update) Tropical Depression Dodong exited the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday night, according to PAGASA.

The state weather bureau said Dodong left the country on 9:30 p.m., heading northeast.

As of 10 p.m., Dodong was estimated at 980 kilometers per hour (kph) northeast of Basco, Batanes. It had maximum winds of up to 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 60 kph. 

PAGASA earlier said a low-pressure area was spotted 435 kms west-northwest of Coron, Palawan at 3 p.m., but the weather bureau said it could dissolve within the next 12 to 24 hours.

Another brewing storm was sighted outside the PAR at 1,680 kms east of Mindanao. PAGASA said the LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression, but will enter PAR over the weekend.
