A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rocked several towns in Surigao del Norte province on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake's epicenter was located 34 kilometers northeast of Burgos town, Surigao del Norte. It struck at 03:41 p.m.
With a depth of 12 kilometers, the tremor was felt at Intensity 4 in Burgos, Surigao del Norte.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Tacloban City and Palo in Leyte and in Surigao City.
Intensity 2 was also observed in Libjo, San Jose, Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands.
Phivolcs describes Intensity 4 as "moderately strong." It can be felt like the passing of a heavy truck and can rattle wood-framed buildings, the agency said.
Intensity 1, meanwhile, may move delicately balanced objects and water in containers.
Phivolcs said no major damage and aftershocks were expected from the earthquake.
The province was also jolted by a magnitude 3.6 earthquake Monday morning.
