DFA reports 10 new COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos

MANILA - Ten more Filipinos abroad contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising the total of infections among overseas Philippine nationals to 8,361, the country's foreign ministry said Thursday.

Of the total cases, only 2,772 are active as majority have recovered while 513 others have succumbed to the disease. The cases are reported from 56 countries and regions.

The total recoveries is up by 4 to 5,076, while one was added to the list of fatalities.

The breakdown by region of those undergoing treatment is as follows: 82 in the Asia Pacific, 456 in Europe, 2,086 in the Middle East and Africa, and 148 in the Americas.

In the Philippines, 33,069 people have acquired the disease, of whom, 1,212 died and 8,910 have recovered.
