MANILA - The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday reminded couples to focus on the road and not on each other while driving.

This after a video of a couple kissing and cuddling while on the road went viral on social media. Sharing the video on its Facebook page, the DOTr advised lovers to be safe.

"Okay lang maglambingan, basta nasa ligtas na lugar, pagkakataon at pamamaraan," it said.

(It's okay to express your affection as long as it's in a safe place, situation and through a safe way.)

"Tandaan: Kapag nagmamaneho, ang focus dapat ng driver ay sa kalsada, hindi sa katabi niya. Minsan, mas okay na bumitaw sa nobya, ‘wag lang sa manibela. No bitter feelings. Just pag-ibig."

(Remember: When driving, the driver should focus on the road, not on his passenger. Sometimes, it's better to release your hold of your partner, just not of the wheel. No bitter feelings. Just love.)

The DOTr said it has asked the Land Transportation Office to investigate the video.

Transportation authorities earlier revoked the license of a man who was caught on film driving while in the passenger seat.
