MANILA — A former official of the Davao region police was named as the new head of the Eastern Police District (EPD) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Police Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan was appointed EPD director effective Tuesday, according to an order signed by Police Maj. Gen. Lyndon Cubos, director of the Philippine National Police Personnel and Records Management.
The appointment was approved by PNP director Police Gen. Oscar Albayalde.
Bathan previously served as Deputy Regional Director for Administration at the Police Regional Office 11 (Davao Region), NCRPO director Police Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar told ABS-CBN News in a text message.
As EPD director, Bathan will lead the police force covering the cities of Mandaluyong, Marikina, Pasig, and San Juan.
Bathan succeeds Brig. Gen. Christopher Tambungan, who was relieved from his post after allegedly assaulting a policewoman in San Juan last month.
Police Col. Domingo Cabillan will replace Bathan after being designated as acting deputy regional director for administration of the Davao region police.
Police Col. Florendo Quibuyen was also appointed acting executive officer of the PNP Directorate for Research and Development.--With a report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News
