Chinese tourist rescued from Chinese kidnappers in Paranaque

PARANAQUE CITY- A Chinese tourist who was kidnapped by 4 Chinese nationals last June 22 has been rescued in Paranaque City Tuesday, an official said. 

According to Brig. Gen. Glenn Dumlao, director of the Philippine National Police-Anti Kidnapping Group, the victim, identified as Li Bo, was waiting for a ride while at the lobby of Solaire Resort and Casino when he was forcibly taken by the suspects and brought to a condominium in Barangay Moonwalk.

Dumlao said Li was kidnapped because he owed the suspects P200,000. He added the victim's debt had an interest of 5 percent a day. 

The suspects, identified as Yalong Ding, Mingmeng Zhang, Leilei Fang, and Qiushun Li, reportedly sent a cellphone video to the victim’s family while he was being beaten up. 

With the help of the victim’s friend, authorities located and rescued Li, and arrested the 4 Chinese kidnappers.

All suspects will be charged with Kidnapping for Ransom with Serious Illegal Detention (Art 267).
