Heavy rains cause flooding in several areas in Quezon City and Pasig City Sunday night.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, several parts of EDSA, both northbound and southbound, were flooded.

State weather bureau PAGASA issued a thunderstorm advisory in the National Capital Region at 10:30 p.m., and another at 11:20 p.m.

Heavy to intense rain showers with lightning and strong winds were expected over Metro Manila and nearby areas in the next one to two hours.

A low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

As of 3 p.m., the LPA was last seen at 625 kilometers northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

According to weather forecaster Ariel Rojas, the LPA is not expected to be upgraded to a tropical depression and has no direct effect on the country.

Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected over Visayas and Mindanao due to the trough of LPA.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers is also expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country caused by localized thunderstorms.
