MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte's special assistant Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go on Sunday launched his shoe donation drive "Sapatos ni SAP, Tsinelas ang Ka-Swap."
For the project, Go said they tapped 200 Puregold branches nationwide where donors can drop their old shoes.
"Napansin ko po na napakaraming Pilipino na maraming sapatos Ineengganyo ko po sila na ihulog sa mga dropboxes ng Puregold all over the Philippines," he said.
The Department of Education and the Department of Social Welfare and Development will identify the beneficiaries such as school children and victims of fire incidents, Go said.
"Kami na bahala mag collect at kami na ang magdidistribute sa mga deserving," he said.
Go has denied rumors that he is running for a senatorial post in the 2019 mid-term polls.
However, Go has been active in public events such as his own "meet and greet" held on the sidelines of the president's official visit to South Korea.
