DFA records 1 additional COVID-19 case among Filipinos abroad; total at 6,141

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday said 1 more Filipino abroad has gotten sick with COVID-19, raising the total of overseas infections among Filipino citizens to 6,141.

The disease also killed one more overseas Filipino, bringing the death toll to 496, the agency said.

Eleven more Filipinos abroad, meanwhile, recovered from COVID-19, with the total now at 2,862.

To date, some 2,783 Filipino patients abroad are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by region: 80 in the Asia Pacific, 538 in Europe, 2,017 in the Middle East and Africa, and 148 in the Americas.

In the Philippines, COVID-19 has so far sickened 29,400 people, with 1,150 deaths and 7,650 recoveries. -- With a report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
