MANILA—The office of Vice-President Leni Robredo on Friday said it provided five buses for locally stranded individuals in Metro Manila, so they can travel back to their home provinces.
The OVP said in a statement that the buses were scheduled for trips to Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate and Sorsogon. Robredo’s office earlier transported 584 passengers to different towns in Albay.
Helping the OVP in its efforts were the Redemptorist Church National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Baclaran, Parañaque City, and the provincial governments where the LSIs were based.
The stranded individuals were first required to present a medical certificate and travel authority issued by the police and local government units of their respective LGUs.
Disinfection procedures and temperature checks were also observed to ensure passenger safety, the OVP added.
It said LSIs were also provided with hot meals and snacks before and during their trips.
