Quezon City logs 47 more coronavirus cases; total rises to 2,772

MANILA - Quezon City on Wednesday confirmed 47 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the city to 2,772.

In its latest bulletin, the Quezon city government said that of the total, 1,476 have recovered while 215 others died. 

The remaining 961 are active or recovering cases,.

Among the city's districts, District 4 has the most number of coronavirus cases with 715, followed by District 6 (524) and District 1 (490).

District 3 has 361 infections, while District 2 has 295 and District 5 with 267.

Officials earlier placed certain areas in the city under 14-day "special concern lockdown" due to their high number of COVID-19 cases.

The areas placed under lockdown were:

  • Sitio Militar in Bahay Toro
  • Calle 29 in Libis
  • Kaingin Bukid in Apolonio Samson 
  • 138 Ermin Garcia St. in E Rodriguez 
  • 52 Imperial St. in E. Rodriguez
