MANILA — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake jolted Occidental Mindoro on Friday morning, Phivolcs said.
The tremor happened at 9:46 a.m., 17 kilometers east of Santa Cruz.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 31 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.
The quake was felt in the following areas:
Intensity III - Santa Cruz and Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro
Intensity II - Puerto Galera and San Teodoro, Oriental Mindoro
The following instrumental intensities were reported:
Intensity III - Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro
Intensity II - Roxas, Oriental Mindoro; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
The tremor was not expected to cause damage but could generate aftershocks, Phivolcs said.
