DFA: 17 more Pinoys abroad positive for coronavirus; total now at 6,091

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday said 17 more Filipinos abroad have gotten sick with COVID-19, raising the total of overseas infections among Filipino citizens to 6,091.

The highly contagious disease also killed 6 more overseas Filipinos, bringing the death toll to 472, the agency said.

One more Filipino abroad, meanwhile, recovered from COVID-19, with the total now at 2,843.

To date, some 2,776 Filipino patients abroad are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by region: 82 in the Asia Pacific, 513 in Europe, 2,023 in the Middle East and Africa, and 158 in the Americas.

In the Philippines, COVID-19 has so far sickened 27,799 people, with 1,116 deaths and 7,090 recoveries. -- With a report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
