MANILA - All regional trial court (RTC) judges and staff at the Manila City Hall were ordered to go on self-quarantine from Thursday until June 30 after 2 personnel came in contact with COVID-19 patients.

Affected courts may conduct hearings through video conferencing and accept pleadings and motions filed electronically, Executive Judge Virgilio Macaraig of the Regional Trial Court of Manila, said in a memorandum Thursday.

Macaraig advised court personnel to avoid contact with the public and trace all persons they may have come in contact with at the court premises for the last 2 weeks.

Those who develop symptoms should report their condition to local health workers and court officials, he added.

The judiciary has requested disinfection and sanitation of the court premises in the city hall, Macaraig said.
