MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday said another 22 Filipinos abroad caught the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally of overseas cases among Filipino nationals to 5,541.
The agency said a total of 2,491 overseas have recovered from the illness.
Meanwhile, 9 more Filipinos abroad died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of fatalities to 409.
To date, some 2,641 Filipino patients abroad are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by region: 103 in Asia-Pacific, 487 in Europe, 1,887 in the Middle East and Africa, and 164 in the Americas.
In the Philippines, the number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 25,930 on Sunday. The tally includes 1,088 fatalities and 5,954 recoveries. -- With a report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
