MANILA - Some P9 million worth of high-grade cocaine was seized from an Indonesian passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Wednesday.

Airport customs district collector Carmelita Talusan identified the passenger as Agus Burhan, whose luggage yielded 1.65 kilograms of cocaine.

Talusan said Agus was randomly checked by airport personnel upon arrival at NAIA Terminal 3 on board a Qatar Airways flight from Doha.

The contraband was concealed in a secret compartment in the luggage.

Talusan ordered the turnover of the drugs to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the filing of appropriate charges against the passenger. -- Report from Raoul Esperas
