A magnitude 4.4 earthquake jolted Ilocos Sur province and nearby areas at around 11:24 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake's epicenter was located 25 kilometers northwest of Sinait town in Ilocos Sur.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, hit at a depth of 16 kilometers.
Intensity III was felt in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
The tremor is not expected to trigger aftershocks and is not likely to cause damage, Phivolcs said.
