A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Sarangani province and nearby areas at around 8:58 p.m. on Friday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake's epicenter was located 38 kilometers north of Sarangani province.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, hit at a depth of 22 kilometers.
Intensity III was felt in Sarangani and Davao Occidental; while Intensity II was felt in General Santos City and Glan.
The tremor is expected to trigger aftershocks but was not likely to cause damage, Phivolcs said.
