ILOILO CITY – Unidentified gunmen shot dead a provincial government worker here Thursday, police said.
The victim was identified as Allan Salario, an engineering aide and driver at the provincial agrarian reform office for 20 years. He was shot by motorcycle-riding assailants.
Salario sustained a gunshot wound behind his right ear, according to Police Maj. Hilarion Roga.
Police are looking at the possibility that the crime could be related to either the job or personal life of the victim.
The victim's sister Catalina Salario, however, said they are not convinced that his death may have been related to work or his personal life.
Provincial agrarian reform officer Lucrecia Taberna also does not believe that his death is work-related.
