Kris: 'It will always be about me dahil anak ako'

MANILA - (UPDATE) "This is not about you."

This was how Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson responded to Kris Aquino's statements against her Tuesday night, when the actress vented against the former sexy dancer's post that she felt had "disrespected" her late parents.

In a 23-second video, Uson defended her decision to post a video that showed Aquino's late father, slain former Sen. Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino Jr., getting a kiss from two women, following a controversy surrounding President Rodrigo Duterte's kiss with a married Filipina during his recently concluded visit to South Korea.

The video of Aquino getting kissed was taken moments before he was shot dead at the Manila airport on August 21, 1983. The actress said her post revived the pain she felt in losing her dad.

Unfazed, Uson asserted that Aquino was barking up the wrong tree.

"This is not about Kris Aquino. Tungkol ito sa paglagay ng malisya sa isang halik. Itinumbas lang sa gawain ng isang leader tulad ng tatay niya. Ms. Aquino, this is not about you," Uson said in a Facebook video.

Uson, however, did not issue an apology, contrary to what Special Assistant to the President Bong Go said earlier Wednesday.

In a later post, Uson said: "With all due respect to everyone involved, I decline to apologize for the truth."

In a 17-minute live video on Facebook and Instagram Tuesday night, Aquino said she was ready to face Uson "anytime, anywhere" as she hit the former sexy dancer's post.

"I am giving you fair warning, isa pa na bastusin o babuyin mo ang tatay o ang nanay ko, magtutuos tayo (one more time that you disrespect or besmirch my dad or my mom, we will have a reckoning)."

Ending the word war, Aquino again went live on social media on Wednesday and conceded to Uson.

"Mocha, you win. You win because you hurt me and I think that's what you wanted to do," she said in a Facebook live video.

Aquino also responded to Uson's remarks that Duterte's kiss was not about her but rather about a leader's actions.

"Sino humalik? Ganun ka-simple (Who initiated the kiss? It's that simple). I will not add further to that dahil di ko kagalit si President Duterte," she said.

"I'm sorry, when it is about my mother and when it is about my father, it will always be about me," she added.

The Aquinos' youngest daughter also explained that what hurt her the most was Uson's choice of a video-- one that was taken moments before the assassination of her dad.

"Alam mo 'yung feeling na ikaw na ang binato pero ikaw pa ang nag-aabot ng kamay para maayos ito?" she said.

"Kahit anong pagsubok ko na maayos natin ito, ayaw mo ayusin eh," she added.

(You know the feeling that you were the one hurt but you are still the one trying to fix things? No matter how hard I try to fix this, you don't want to.)

Aquino ended her video by saying that their tiff was not about her but was about how Filipinos "still love and respect" her late parents.

"Mocha, I'll end this. You're right, this was not about Kris Aquino. This was a reminder that Filipinos still love and respect Cory and Ninoy Aquino," she said.
