MANILA -- The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Quezon City has reached 2,236, the local government said Tuesday.
In its 11 p.m. bulletin, the city government said 2,099 cases have complete addresses in Quezon City and 1,949 were validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the city is now 816.
One new COVID-19 related fatality was recorded in the city raising the death toll to 182.
The city government also logged 51 new recoveries from the virus, raising the total to 951.
The local government earlier placed areas in barangays Bahay Toro, Culiat, Sauyo, Batasan Hills, and Tatalon under special concern lockdown "due to the high number and clustering of COVID-19 cases."
Among the areas under special concern lockdown are Sitio Militar in Barangay Bahay Toro, Vargas Compound-Adelfa Metro Heights-Abanay and Ancop Canada in Barangay Culiat, Lower Gulod in Barangay Sauyo, 318 Dakila St., 2nd Alley Kalayaan B and Masbate St. in Barangay Batasan Hills and Victory Avenue, ROTC Hunters, BMA Avenue and Agno St. in Barangay Tatalon.
Certeza Compound in Barangay Culiat and Alley 2, Homart Road at Barangay Baesa were added to the list of areas under special concern lockdown on May 25.
The city government lifted the special concern lockdown in Masbate St. in Barangay Batasan Hills and Victory Avenue and BMA Avenue in Barangay Tatalon last Saturday.
It also placed Calle 29, Barangay Libis under special concern lockdown on Monday.
