MANILA--The city government of Parañaque will allow liquor stores to operate again on Monday, June 1, as Metro Manila prepares to shift to a general quarantine.

In an executive order dated May 29, Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez lifted the ban on liquor sales, although restaurants and bars are still prohibited to serve such drinks.

Liquor consumption will only be allowed inside residences, as drinking in public places will remain prohibited.

At least 6 cities in Metro Manila have lifted the liquor ban, which was implemented throughout parts of the Philippines because of the coronavirus lockdown.
