IFUGAO—A driver of a van got buried in a landslide here last Sunday afternoon but was saved by local residents.

Tony Apidchor Jr., the driver of the van, was moving in reverse when soil and rocks suddenly eroded from the mountainside.

Apidchor got buried but his lone passenger was able to jump out of the van and call for help.

Residents, however, were able to dig Apidchor out immediately and rush him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition.

As of Tuesday, 3 roads in Cordillera--one road in Ifugao and 2 in Mountain Province--were closed due to landslide and continuous rain.

Clearing operations were ongoing as of posting.

The Department of Public Works and Highways assured motorists and residents that roads will be cleared immediately.
