ANKARA - Binigyang parangal ni Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ang Philippine Humanitarian and Rescue Team sa kanilang tulong na ibinigay sa mga biktima ng killer earthquake sa Turkiye noong Pebrero.
Mismong si Erdogan ang naghandog ng parangal kay Major Sayin Erwen Diploma ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Team Leader ng 82-man Philippine Humanitarian and Rescue Team.

Tinanggap din ng PH Rescue Team ang "Humanitarian Medal" sa Presidential Complex sa Ankara nitong April 25, bilang pasasalamat sa tulong na kanilang ibinigay matapos ang 7.7 magnitude earthquake na sumira sa libo-libong kabahayan at imprastraktura sa maraming probinsya ng nasabing bansa.

Sa kanyang talumpati, sinabi ni Erdogan na malaki ang utang na loob ng kanyang bansa sa rescue teams ng iba-ibang bansa.
"You have earned a special place in the hearts of 85 million people," sabi ni President Erdogan.
Inalog ng 7.7-magnitude earthquake ang southeastern Türkiye noong February 6, 2023, may lalim na pitong kilometro ang pinagmulan ng lindol sa Pazarcik region ng Kahramanmaras province.
Apektado ang mga probinsya ng Hatay, Gaziantep, Kilis, Osmaniye, Malatya, Adiyaman, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana, at Kahramanmaras na kinakitaan ng malubhang mga pagguho ng mga gusali at iba pang imprastraktura.
Sa lakas at lalim ng lindol, naramdaman ito sa Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, at Cyprus. Umabot sa 50,783 ang death toll sa Türkiye.
Tinanggap din ni Chargé d'affaires, ad interim (ai) Juan E. Dayang, Jr ng Philippine Embassy ang Certificate of Appreciation para sa Republika ng Pilipinas na iginawad ni PErdogan at Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
