Magnitude 4.0 quake jolts south of Sultan Kudarat

MANILA - A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit the southern area of Sultan Kudarat on Friday afternoon, according to Phivolcs.

The tectonic tremor struck around 4:05 p.m. approximately 58 kilometers southwest of Palimbang town with a depth of 30 kms.

Instrumental Intensity 1 was recorded in General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato; and the towns of Alabel and Kiamba in Sarangani.

Phivolcs said that damage to structure or aftershocks are not expected.
