TALISAY CITY, Cebu – An unattended bag at the Talisay City Hall triggered tension and fear among employees and prompted a work suspension Wednesday morning as authorities checked for explosives.

Talisay City Mayor Eddie Gullas ordered the suspension of work to ensure the safety of everyone after a backpack was found abandoned at the City Hall's second floor around 9 a.m.

Security personnel then moved the bag outside the left wing of the building.

Members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas arrived at the scene to inspect the bag but only found clothes, a charger, wires, documents and identification cards owned by different individuals.

Police Chief Master Sgt. Tim Sereño of the Talisay City Police said they have yet to identify the bag's owner.
