MANILA - The Senate on Tuesday ratified the bicameral conference committee report on the bill seeking to establish a national identification system.
Lawmakers agreed to include only these 13 sets of information in the ID card: the bearer's unique Philippine Identification System or PhilSys number, full name, sex, blood type, date of birth, place of birth, marital status, address, and a front facing photo.
The bicameral conference committee report was approved by both houses on May 22— the farthest that this proposal has come along in the legislative mill in its history.
