MANILA - An Indian and a Filipino suspected of supplying drugs to celebrities and politicians were arrested in Muntinlupa City last week, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency announced Monday.
Authorities confiscated ecstasy in tablet form and hybrid marijuana varieties, kush and hashish, worth P 1.07 million in a buy-bust operation against Rajiv Gidwani and Jeremiah Carillo.
Different drugs and other paraphernalia were also seized in Gidwani's home, which was raided through a search warrant.
Gidwani's father, Nari, also allegedly attempted to bribe the PDEA agents, according to Dir. Gen. Aaron Aquino. He was arrested for corrupting a public officer.
Nari denied the allegations, insisting it was a "set-up."
"The matter is in court already let the courts decide. It was set-up. We don’t have drugs at home," he said.
