MANILA - The Quezon City government on Tuesday recorded 149 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), even as as the total number of cases breached 2,000.
In its 11 p.m. bulletin, the local government said that the total number of cases and recoveries in the city is now at 2,012 and 773, respectively.
Of the total number of cases, 1,833 have addresses in the city while 1,657 were validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices.
The COVID-19 death toll in the city remained at 169.
The local government said the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city is now 715.
Barangay Batasan Hills still has the most number of COVID-19 cases with 85, followed by Culiat with 73, and Bahay Toro with 64.
Among the six districts in the city, District 4 still has the most number of cases with 439.
As of Tuesday, the local government is updating the list of barangays under extreme enhanced community quarantine.
A 14-day "special concern" or total lockdown was placed on 11 locations in barangays Bahay Toro, Culiat, Sauyo, Batasan Hills, and Tatalon, due to the high number of COVID-19 cases in the areas since May 13.
Certeza Compound, Barangay Culiat and Alley 2 Homart Road, Barangay Baesa were also added to the list of places under special concern lockdown.
