DATU SALIBO, Maguindanao - Three men were shot and killed Saturday noon in Datu Salibo, Maguindanao, according to a report from the Police Regional Office in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Police identified the victims as Rassid Guiaman, 35 years old and Ustadz Abdulgani, 37 years old, both residents of Tuka, Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
The other victim is still unidentified as of posting.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by the police, the victims were onboard a motorcyle from Datu Piang town and were on their way to the village of Tuka in Mamasapano.
But upon arriving at Sitio Kurungan, Sambulawan, Datu Salibo, they were fired upon by unidentified gunmen.
“According sa mga nauna sa area, allegedly anim sila lahat, pero nakaligtas yung tatlo, yung tatlo ang tinamaan. Naka recover ng 3 motorcycle sa area” said Datu Salibo Chief of Police, Police Cpt. Abdulbasit Kulod.
The victims died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.
Datu Salibo Police eyes family feud as the motive of the incident.
“Kinontact ko yung mga commander ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front sa area. Nalaman namin na related ito doon sa rido o family feud sa Mamasapano, mga 3 weeks ago," Kulod added.
Investigation on the incident is ongoing.
