Peter Joemel Advincula, the man who claims to be the hooded figure "Bikoy" in a series of anti-Duterte viral videos, is set to be released from custody after leaving Philippine National Police General Hospital Saturday and posting bail over his estafa cases.
Speaking to radio DZMM, Advincula said he will be staying with his family and then hire a lawyer to back his claims against the opposition.
"Pinaka priority natin ngayon ay kumuha ng abogado," he said.
Advincula earlier claimed he was offered half a million pesos by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and members of the Liberal Party to appear in a series of videos that linked the Dutertes to illegal drugs.
Trillanes, the Liberal Party and other opposition personalities have rejected Advincula's claims.
Advincula was hospitalized Friday due to chest pains.
Police Lt. Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Metro Manila chief, said Advincula will be released to his family, adding there is no standing warrant of arrest against him.
"As of now, wala na siyang kaso. Wala na kaming hawak na warrant of arrest laban sa kaniya," he said. He said he has yet to receive a request to provide security for Advincula.
Advincula posted P24,000 bail for the 2 estafa cases.
