House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas on Thursday said both houses of Congress have received their copies of President Rodrigo Duterte's report on declaring martial law in Mindanao.

Fariñas said House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez received his copy at 9:55p.m., 5 minutes before the deadline.

He added that Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III also received his copy.

Under the 1987 Constitution, the President is required to submit a report in person or in writing to Congress within 48 hours from the proclamation of martial law or the suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus.

The President declared martial law in entire Mindanao on Tuesday night, following clashes between government troops and the Maute group in Marawi City.
