MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday held a special Cabinet meeting in Davao City in the wake of his declaration of martial law in Mindanao.
A photo released by Special Assistant to the President Bong Go shows Duterte presiding over the meeting at the presidential guest house in Panacan, Davao City.
The Cabinet meeting was also attended by top level military and police officers led by Armed Forces Chief of Staff and the designated martial law administrator Eduardo Año and Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa.
Duterte placed all of Mindanao under martial law after clashes erupted Tuesday between government forces and terrorist Maute group in Marawi City.
The president rushed home from his shortened official visit to Russia Wednesday to attend to the security emergency.
Malacañang has yet to release further details on the meeting as of this posting.
