MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte lashed out anew against opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, calling the senator shameless following reports linking the latter to an ouster plot against the president.
Speaking in Davao City the night after "Bikoy" linked the opposition to a supposed destabilization plot, the Chief Executive expressed confidence the truth will come out soon.
He also challenged his critics to come out if they really want to oust him.
"Anong makuha ninyo kung patayin ninyo ako? At 'yang mga black propaganda eventually the truth will come out" he said.
He also fired back at Trillanes, accusing him of owning cars and property listed under the names of other people.
"Lalabas rin 'yan pero sabi ko wala kang hiya, hindi ka lalaki," he said.
Trillanes and Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano earlier rejected the claims of Peter Joemel Advincula alias "Bikoy" that members of the opposition had plotted to discredit and oust President Duterte.
"I deny the allegations made by this Bikoy character. This could be another ploy of the administration to harass the opposition. For now, I will be consulting with my lawyers so that we could also file the appropriate charges against him," Trillanes said in a statement.
